Workshop - Creative Inforgraphics for Education

In today's workshop (DLTV Conference 2014):
Welcome to Creative Infographics for Education, a workshop where we will look into how Infographics can be used in a creative way to present knowledge, understanding and engagement into your curriculum.

We will start in InfuseLearning and where I will ask you to draw your impression of the new DLTV conference. Time to get creative!! [Update: Unfortunately, InfuseLearning is no longer active, if you are looking for an alternative The Answer Pad has some great interactive qualities, similar to InfuseLearning, available through web/iOS/android]

Then we will bounce past bubbl.us, a easy to use mind map maker that I used when introducing infographics to students.

We continue to coggle.it, an online collaborative mind map maker which has great integration into Google applications, and a great alternative to Bubbl.us.

For us to start collaborating, please supply your email below to receive your invitation via email to join our mind map on coggle.it

We will then move onto Easel.ly, an online infographics creator with great intuitive interface, perfect to introduce graphic design principles for creating those enriched Infographics. We will get hands on feel and make our own infographic.

To finish off we will have a quick look at Pixlr Editor, an online photo editor which has similar capabilities and feel to Photoshop/Gimp image editors. This is a great compliment to use in conjunction with Easel.ly.

I have also included links to my postings below of my journey and impressions of using infographics as an alternative way of presenting knowledge and development of deeper engagement and connection to subject areas for students. Please feel free to have a read and leave comments.
